Photoshop CS4 – Adjustment Layers

Adjusting Saturation With An Adjustment Layer

Why use an adjustment layer rather than working directly onto the image? An adjustment layer helps to protect your image. A common way to backstep is to use the history, but if you’ve made a lot of changes on your image then that might not be the most ideal way to go back. Instead you can use an adjustment layer to edit changes anytime you want. This video covers both adjustments, making an adjustment directly to an image, and using an adjustment layer. Adjustmnet layers allow you to keep changing the adjustments after closing and reopening a file. Using adjustment layers means you’ll never be permenetly stuck with an adjustment.

This is really useful, i’ve def done this sort of thing before and have needed to change the colors back later. Ended up just messing with all the colors, big pain.
